Started the quilts.

I finally started the first of six quilts I need to have done by Christmas. The first one is all black and white, so it's super forgiving of my errors :)



That's all the pieces cut out.



Tons of pieces that need to be pressed.



I was excited to get a bunch of the 30 squares done so I could show my friend before she left for Vegas. Mmm, Vegas.

I've decided to put all the make all the squares for all the quilts before I start adding the borders and piecing them all together. I still don't know how I'm going to physically quilt them yet. I'll think about that tomorrow. :)

The pictures are of my friend Bonnie's grandson as he's growing up, plus other stuff. The bottom two are all the family stockings hung on Bonnie's mantel and Bonnie and her husband (grandma and grandpa to all the kids I'm making the quilts for). She was aiming for quilts like the one in Step Mom. This is as close as I can get with my skill level. Feel free to create through me. :)

Are the photos screened onto fabric? Or do you have a little pocket or something? I looks AWESOME so far...

Thanks!!! The pictures are printed on special fabric that works with ink jet printers. It's super awesome and I got such a deal on it. Usually it's about $3.00 a sheet (normal 8 1/2 x 11), but a web site had mismarked the price and I got 100 for $5.98!!!
